About Me

My name is Thomas Keene and I am currently a PhD candidate and Teaching Fellow at Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia PA. This blog, as a repository of my thoughts, is full of Nerdlets, the goal of which is to highlight the variety of useful resources, both new and old, that pastors, amateur theologians, and academics can use to help develop and spread their own ideas for the advancement of God’s Kingdom.

Teaching

I am currently teaching a section of Acts and Paul at Westminster Theological Seminary (PA). In past years I taught Greek, New Testament for Ministry, and a section of New Testament Introduction. I enjoy it immensely!

Dissertation

My current research at Westminster concerns the Epistle to the Hebrews, one of those “underdog” books in the NT (find Paul, then keep reading). More particularly, I am looking looking at how modern theories about metaphor (Ricoeur, Eco, Bakhtin) might further illuminate our understanding of the function of typology in the Epistle.

Church

My wife Sarah, my daughter Emma, and I worship at Christ the King PCA in Conshohocken, PA. I currently serving as that church’s interim pastor.

Future

My goal is to glorify Jesus Christ through faithful preaching and teaching in the service of His Kingdom. I am currently searching for career opportunities that might fulfill that goal and hope to start full-time ministry in May of 2009.
